Warriors Building Beds, Building Hope

Help us get 200+ Volunteers out to help!

Saturday April 18 from 10:00am-2:00pm

At West Point Junior High, we talk a lot about what it means to be a Warrior. We talk about leadership, service, community, and taking care of each other. This year, our students didn’t just talk about it — they did something incredible.

Together, our school raised over $22,000 for Sleep in Heavenly Peace, an organization that builds and delivers beds to children who do not have a bed of their own. There are children in our own communities who sleep on floors, couches, or shared spaces. Sleep in Heavenly Peace believes that a bed is a basic need for a child’s physical, emotional, and mental well-being — and we agree.

Now, we get to see the impact of what our students accomplished.

More Than Just Building Beds
Our upcoming Bed Build is not just a service project — it is a community event. Students, families, staff, and community members will come together to build real beds that will go to real kids in need. Volunteers will sand, drill, assemble, and stain bed frames, turning raw lumber into something that will change a child’s life.

And the best part?
You do not need to know how to build anything. You just need to be willing to help. So wear some comfy clothes and tye your hair up and get ready to jump in.

Why This Matters
This event is especially meaningful because it comes after a fundraiser where our entire school worked together toward one goal. We watched our students unite, problem-solve, lead, and serve. Now we get to come together again — not to raise money — but to build something with our own hands that will directly help children.

This is what a community looks like.
This is what a Warrior does.

What to Expect at the Bed Build
Learn to use woodworking tools like drills and sanders

Sand and stain wood for bed frames

Help assemble beds

Work alongside friends, students, staff, and community members

Be part of something meaningful and bigger than yourself

You may walk in as strangers, but you will walk out connected by a shared purpose: helping children Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

On Thursday, January 22nd, NJHS had a meeting where they created hearts
and valentines for the residents at the Family Tree Assisted Living Center.
National Junior Honors Society worked hard to show their care for the elderly at
the center.
But, they didn’t stop at just making the valentines, on Monday, February 2nd
they also took the time to personally go to the living center and tape them to the
doors. NJHS members walked to the Family Tree Assisted Living Center after
school on Monday with the hope of brightening the day of people living at the
center. The members worked together to put the hearts and valentines on the doors
of the elderly, smiling at people along the way. With working as a group, the NJHS
members were able to attack all of the residents doors with love in a short period of
time.
National Junior Honors Society members and advisors work hard to help
their peers, bringing joy to those they serve. NJHS makes West Point Junior High
even better, boosting our image. We are so grateful for all that NJHS does to make
our school and community greater!
